The organizing team

The Footwear Biomechanics Symposium was deemed to be “a challenge” by our instructor, Dr. Verena Burk. “We are sportsmen – we love challenges“, we replied confidently. We are 24 sports students at the Institute for Sports Sciences at the University of Tübingen, studying sports journalism and sports management. In October 2010 we started with the preparations for the event Footwear Biomechanics Symposium. We have eight months to go – eight months to establish a good structure, to make detailed plans and to prepare a perfect solution. Every single person plays an important role in the big game. As a team we want to succeed in organizing an unforgettable event for you. Besides organizing an interesting and scientifically valuable congress, we want to show you our home – Tübingen and Germany. An exciting congress is waiting for you, as well as a colorful holiday in Germany’s versatile south. We look forward to infotaining you!

Social Program
To make sure you’ll have great time beside the congress our group of eight is organizing a special social Program to satisfy everybody’s needs.

Entertainment, fun combined with interessting informaion about the city will be provided by us.

We offer a lot of exciting opportunities for our guests. A Swabian Evening, a city tour or a banquett just to name a few.

We try our best to make your visit in Tübingen as entertaining and unforgetable as possible.

All we need from you is good mood and hopefully sunny days.

Marketing and Finance
As the resort “Marketing and Finance”, we are glad to welcome you to the 10^th biennial footwear biomechanics symposium 2011 in Tübingen. Our primary task is to divide the budget between the specific departments and to control the use of our financial means. Another point under our responsibility is the support service of the participating sponsors. For the following days we wish you a pleasant stay and a nice time in Tübingen.

Accreditation and Transportation
We have twelve hardworking hands, twelve open eyes and ears, twelve walk-willing feet and six intelligent brains. With these abilities we are responsible for three areas.

To make sure that the application procedure is executed perfectly, our first task is accreditation. We are your contact persons at the symposium. We offer an information desk where you will receive your identification badges, documents and answers to frequently asked questions.

Whether you will be arriving at the airport or the train station, we will get you and bring you to Tübingen. During the symposium we will take care of any transportation issues you might have. Moreover we will provide you with information which you will find in your hotel rooms. Our third task concerns the speakers. We will be there to ensure  that the presentations succeed without any complications.

Public Relations
Briefing you in advance. Keeping you informed during your stay in Tübingen. Documenting three unforgettable days in words and pictures. These are our tasks. We are responsible for PR and media, for designing the logo, homepage, roll ups and program, as well as the photo-documentation of the event.
